Seat Impact Tester to check the impact effect on the seat surface of the plastic moulded chairs.
International Equipments is a leading manufacturer, supplier and exporter of Seat Impact Testers in India. Built at our Mumbai facility, our Seat Impact Tester is a purpose-built pneumatic drop-weight machine designed to evaluate the impact effect on the seat surface of plastic moulded chairs - simulating the repeated impact of a person sitting down forcefully, day after day, over the service life of the chair.
Plastic moulded chairs are one of the largest categories of mass-market furniture in India and worldwide. Manufacturers must demonstrate that their chair seat surfaces can withstand repeated, sudden impact loading without cracking, splitting at the seat-leg junction, or failing in service. The Seat Impact Tester provides a controlled, repeatable laboratory simulation of this real-world loading - letting manufacturers validate new mould designs, polymer grades and raw-material batches before committing to large production runs.
A Seat Impact Tester - also called a Chair Seat Impact Tester, Furniture Drop-Weight Tester or Plastic Chair Impact Tester - is a vertical drop-weight machine that delivers controlled, repeatable impact blows to the seat surface of a chair under test. A calibrated weight (typically 18 kg for plastic moulded chair testing) is lifted to a fixed height by a pneumatic cylinder, then released to strike the seat surface from above. A counter tracks the number of impact cycles, and the operator inspects the chair after the specified number of impacts for cracks, splits or any other damage.
Furniture impact testing is the standard QC test specified by furniture quality standards including IS 14292 (Indian Standard for Chairs for Domestic and Office Purposes), BIFMA (North America) and EN 1728 (Europe). Without a documented seat-impact test result, a plastic chair manufacturer cannot reliably claim compliance with these standards or pass furniture-industry buyer audits.
Our Seat Impact Tester is a robust, free-standing pneumatic impact machine built specifically for plastic moulded chair testing. The 18 kg weight - sized to simulate the dynamic loading from a person dropping onto the chair - is lifted by a 400 mm stroke pneumatic cylinder (40 mm diameter) controlled by an electrically operated solenoid valve. The cylinder moves the piston up and down automatically, delivering one full impact cycle per actuation.
Four hard-chrome-plated guide shafts of 2.0 metre height carry the weight vertically - keeping the impact direction perfectly perpendicular to the chair seat throughout the drop. The height of the box containing the pneumatic cylinder and solenoid valve is fully adjustable via a positive lock, so the operator can position the impact head precisely above the seat surface regardless of chair height.
An automatic counter tracks the number of impact cycles delivered - essential for cyclic-endurance testing where the specification calls for thousands of repeated impacts. The operator sets the target cycle count, starts the test, and lets the machine run continuously without supervision.
As specified on the existing product page, the air compressor is NOT included with the standard supply of the Seat Impact Tester - it must be arranged by the customer. A compressor having pressure between 5 kg/cm2 to 10 kg/cm2 will be arranged by you.
The Seat Impact Tester is designed to operate on standard industrial compressed air at a pressure between 5 kg/cm² and 10 kg/cm² (approximately 70 to 145 psi). Any standard reciprocating or screw-type industrial compressor with sufficient flow rate and that pressure range will work. If you do not already have a suitable compressor in your plant, please let us know during the enquiry stage - we can recommend trusted compressor suppliers in our region.
